Partnership with CIS

The Bruce Irons Camp Fund partners with Communities in Schools (CIS) to select deserving students to enter our program. CIS is the nation’s largest and most effective dropout prevention organization, helping young people stay in school, successfully learn, and prepare for life by connecting community resources with public schools.

BICF staff works closely with CIS coordinators in our partner schools when choosing campers. The role of a CIS coordinator is to link teachers, families, and students to various services provided in the community.

BICF is fortunate to work with wonderful coordinators at the following CIS schools to select new campers for our program:

  • Albemarle Road Elementary
  • Billingsville Elementary
  • Bruns Academy
  • Druid Hills Academy
  • Hidden Valley Elementary
  • Highland Renaissance Academy
  • Rama Road Elementary
  • Statesville Road Elementary
  • Thomasboro Academy
  • Westerly Hills Academy
  • Winterfield Elementary
